The Story

In Vesanius, an elite fine art college, five students are accepted onto the yearly outreach programme. As the five outcasts begin studying A History of Creation, obsessions reveal themselves and in the wake of hedonist appreciation, they morph into sinister anthropomorphic versions of the artworks they so ravenously devour.

At the edge of France, in what was once a decimated Cathedral lies Vesanius, the elite fine art college that is boasted to be the best in the world. Notoriously difficult to be accepted into, students must not only have an excellent academic record, but also pass the strange aptitude test that deems them suitable for the courses on offer. Every year an outreach programme is run, accepting five students who show great promise but failed to meet the college’s standards. It is 2022; when Marlot, Eva, Oshene, Rye and Yasmine arrive at Vesanius. They meet their three eccentric professors; Icarus, Amrita and Richmond who promise to take them on the journey of a lifetime in the annual course ‘A Universal History of Art’, where they will study art in all it’s mediums and the impact these mediums have had on global society. Each student harbours their own traumatic past and dark secrets, as they begin to dive deeper into the curriculum, they realise that their eccentric professors may be far more deadly than they first seemed. It will take each of them to overcome their demons, in order to unearth the ominous mystery that plagues Vesanius.

After their first term at the college, stranger things begin to happen. Each student is assigned to create a piece of work on a different artwork, spanning sculpture, painting, literature, music and film. As the five become immersed in their work, they begin to notice strange occurcences, as though they are transforming into the artwork themselves. The transformation of their personalities and desires, makes it increasingly difficult for the five to continue their investigation into the sordid goings-on at Vesanius. Lines are blurred, relationships are complicated, and all the while the very walls they stand within begin to whisper to them with dark thoughts. When Marlot and Eva stumble upon a secret ritual chamber in the college, they realise that there may be something far more powerful at play than they originally anticipated.

The third term wears on, pressure in the form of trips, deadlines and betrayal mounts on the five. As the final set of lessons commence, they become increasingly aware of the change in their three tutors. Formerly enthusiastic, bright and bizarre in their teaching have become cold, vacant and brutal. As the five race against time to uncover the source of the college’s strange power, and their fellow students’ insanity, they find themselves too late. Having taken on the personality of their artworks, they become sinister caricatures who complete a ritual to the God that presides over Vesanius. Imbued with immense powers and influence, the five are sent out to shape the way for the new world, taking up positions in leadership across the globe and uniting to unleash a deadly destruction. Each art piece that they make, when touched by a mortal, will slowly destroy their mind from the inside out.
